This week from the
Paradox Gaming Network
So, in Gazebo News the company 100% refunded my money which was the right thing for them to do. That thing was so horribly made it was amazing that they haven’t had a death associated with their product. Also, I got the replacement delivered and the frame and top built. This one is way better as it is built with bolts instead of hex screws. Tomorrow I will get the sides and the netting and everything on.
Summer Motivation Challenge
Looking like 200 lbs might be a rough goal for the end of summer. I’m getting a lot fitter, but I’m not dropping weight, but I am slimming down on the inches. I still have a ton of summer to go so I’m not going to give up on my goals.
Goodbye Bless...I barely knew you
Bless is now uninstalled from my machine.
While I wanted to believe Bless could be decent in a Steam Release, the truth of the matter is Neowhiz completely mismanaged the game and rushed its Steam release because they knew they were going to miss their window of opportunity.
They are only now, after a month of release, doing more with optimization so players don’t have to manually edit .ini files to improve performance. The other thing they are doing is pursuing more cheaters, but the damage is already done because some of the offenders who won’t get caught already have thousands of gold.
So with that, I own Bless and I bought four friends and family copies of Bless and yet, it will probably never be played again.
Important Alpha 1 News, July Store Updates, Monday Stream
So I put a video out this week for Ashes, it was on some very important Alpha 1 news. After the month of July you will not be able to purchase Pre-Order packs with Alpha 1 access. There are already 8,000 people registered for Alpha 1 and they want to cap that at no more than 10,000. Now, we are waiting for information after Monday’s stream to find out what changes will be made to the Kickstarter and summer backers and if they are locked from upgrading their packages after July as well.
This week’s video on all this information can be seen here: https://youtu.be/xR4IQRN1gc4
There is going to be another video this week on Ashes after I dissect all the nuggets of information in the way you all have come to know and love.
If you are interested in Ashes of Creation, I’m going to shamelessly ask that you register for the game using my referral link (https://www.ashesofcreation.com/ref/Jahlon/)
The reason why is that I will get 15% of all your purchases back, which will give me a bigger pool of money to do giveaways with. This is quite literally the simplest way to support Paradox. Costs you nothing above and beyond what you pay to the game (sub fee, cash shop purchases, etc) anyway.
Rejection is hard...but they can bounce back
I feel really bad for Dynamight Studios. All they asked for on their Kickstarter was $117,535 which really isn’t a lot of money, but it looks like this project may have been a little too young for the crowdfunding scene. While they managed to pull in 30% in one day, and as of last week they had 42% of the funds they requested, it looks like they didn’t have enough in the tank to go the distance. As of the 7 July they had only managed to inch their way to 48% of total funding with 17 days to go.
Now some people might say that this still leaves them half their funding period to raise half their funds, but sadly that’s not how funding goes. You want to be well above 75% before the 50% mark or you won’t be able to push with those remaining 15 days to claw and scrape together what you need.
These guys will be able to bounce back and relaunch their kickstarter in a few months. All they need to do is do one or two more livestreams and showcase some stuff, have some more details on their Kickstarter and then be a little more engaged with the entire thing. Personally if they can re-launch in September with some new stuff to showcase, that will give them enough time to shore up the foundation while not taking too much time and losing some of that 48%. Big thing for them to be successful the second time is to hit that 40% mark in the first day or two. Doesn’t seem like a big difference, but coming out of the gate strong is what will draw people in right away.
For the time being if you haven't checked out Fractured, I again shamelessly invite you to do so via my referral link:
Big thank you to all of you who support this dream of mine. While I haven’t been selected for all of the content creator positions on different games I’ve wanted to do, either because I simply wasn’t or because I didn’t have a big enough audience, the people behind Warlords Awakening were very cool about how they did their Ambassador Program.
This week I got the word that I had been accepted into their Ambassador Program which is awesome.
That announcement was here: https://forum.warlordsawakening.com/index.php?topic=21.0
Now, as soon as I have access to the game, I’ll start presenting it.
The Irony of my deciding to skip CU Beta 1 is that CU Beta 1 was delayed this week. I could go into more details on why but I summed it up in a Paradoxical Impressions this week.
You can catch that episode here (https://youtu.be/ATn_h59j31s) where I talk about what is going on with MMOs.
Take a pass if you hear of this one
So, in conjunction with Woovit I took an offer to review a first person shooter titled Vertigo FPS. Let me tell you that while this game has a great concept of being able to change your “ground” to any flat surface, that’s about the only thing great about this game.

Once I settle in to a game again I have no doubt that we will totally blow up these numbers, especially the views and minutes of watch time which we are already on pace to crush before the end of the summer.
I had a busy week this week with YouTube video making. I actually put out my Ashes Video, my Warlords Awakening preview and my Vertigo video. This isn’t as busy as I’ve been in some weeks past so it felt good. I will admit I miss doing the Archeage 101 videos, I always had fun with those. I am really looking forward to doing my Ashes 101 content.
Awesome shows this week
I had a blast this week on my shows. I didn’t do the full 2 hours on Wednesday night because I wanted to watch fireworks with my little one. I actually made up that time, and a lot more on Friday and we had a ton of good conversation on Motivation on Friday.
I’m going to keep being me on my show. It's going to sometimes be on a video game, sometimes on life. Why? Three words for you: Because I can.
Join us Wednesdays at 2100 EDT and Fridays at 1300 EDT.
You know when I first did the Patreon site I wasn’t sure what to put on it. Now I don’t know what to change it to.
But I am still working on it.
